The term ‘orangery’ originated from Italy and grew in popularity in the 17th century – fast forward to today and orangeries can enhance any home with an elegant, classic look and provide a versatile new living space.
An orangery typically costs roughly £2,500 per square metre to build. All materials and labour, as well as the installation of plumbing, wiring, drywall, and light fixtures, are factored into this price. Naturally, this may vary and might be lesser if you go for a uPVC construction and build it on your own.
Construction costs for an orangery are typically 25-50% lower per square metre than those of a traditional one-story addition. When compared to extensions and conservatories, the cost to build an orangery is among the lowest.
